Overview

The ION 4D™ is unlike any helmet that’s ever been designed before. The sleek, aggressive styling of the shell includes the Schutt Energy Wedge faceguard attachment system.

The faceguard is integrated right into the shell and is stronger and more durable than classic faceguards! The ION 4D also features the next generation, in Skydex- Thermoplastic Urethane Cushioning (TPU).

TPU is superior to older, traditional foam padding.

The TPU cushions eliminate any break-in period and make it the most comfortable helmet you’ll ever wear – right out of the box!

Technology

 SKYDEX2® Cushioning System
Thermoplastic Urethane (TPU) Cushioning, in the form of SKYDEX2®, is superior to traditional foam padding: it absorbs more impact and provides better heat management. TPU Cushioning is highly resistant to mold, mildew, fungus and bacteria, while providing a barrier against MRSA and staph concerns.

Unsurpassed Comfort and Fit Superior Hygienics
Two-piece SUREFIT® inflatable air liner system makes this the game’s best fitting helmet. Made from an anti-microbial material to resist the growth otf mold, mildew, fungus and other bacteria.

Energy Wedge
Exclusive to the ION 4D™, it acts as a shock absorber for the helmet, absorbing up to 15% more force from frontal impacts to the faceguard.

Wide panoramic view provides dramatically better vision

Chin Strap Integration
Chin straps can be attached to the ION 4D™  in a variety of manners, including Schutt Short ‘N Long or 4-Point High. We recommend, however, mounting the chin strap through the Energy Wedge faceguard, as this gives you sideline-to-sideline field of vision and also eliminates a high contact area on the helmet shell and prolongs helmet life.

Components

Chin Cup Choice

• The ION 4D™ comes equipped with both a Schutt Fusion® Hard Cup chin strap (#7864) and a traditional Schutt soft cup (#7761)
• DNA™ Jaw Pads. One pair of 7/8” DNA™ jaw pads is included.
• Other sizes available.
